Welcome to sea houses
Sea Houses offers holiday rental management services for select homes in the Otway Coast Region of the Great Ocean Road. This area includes the coastal hamlets of Wye River, Separation Creek, Kennett River, Johanna, and the larger town area of Apollo Bay, Marengo and Skenes Creek. Sea Houses is a new business, established in 2022 by Sharee Evans, a lifetime local of the Otways and Great Ocean Road.
The Wave House - Wye River
Please note there are currently renovation works happening at the house next door. Works will generally be undertaken in usual trade hours, during the weekdays. Any queries, please contact us.
The Wave House in Wye River is a great base for your coastal family holiday.
Located in amongst the beautiful gum trees in a peaceful setting, with bird life around the property, and often koalas in the trees.
The Headland Retreat - Wye River
Perched atop the Wye Point headland, abutting the Great Otway National Park is ‘The Headland Retreat’ with its uniquely raw coastal outlook, surrounded 270 degrees by the rugged beauty of the southern ocean. With its panoramic bird’s eye view of the vast expanse of sea, waves breaking along the shoreline below and the undulating hills of the Great Otway National Park stretching towards Kennett River, this property truly has one of the best unimpeded views along the Great Ocean Road with not a building in your view line. On a beautiful day, from the cosy comfort of the lounge, listen to the rhythmic unending crashing waves while watching the sunset over the expansive horizon. Alternatively, with a hot drink in front of the fireplace, marvel at the rainbow and enjoy the breath-taking atmosphere of rain clouds rolling in from the west during a storm. This is indeed a house for all weather, all seasons.
The Space
The space is lovingly curated with a distinctly Australian feel that will surely delight guests with an eye for art and design. Featuring a number of original artworks by contemporary indigenous and non -indigenous Australian artists, the space has a homely and contemporary feel with a nod to mid-century modern design. The open plan living, kitchen and dining areas all offer spectacular ocean and coastline views. Curl up on the couch looking out to the views, bask in the warmth of the centrally located wood fireplace with your favourite book or watch Netflix on the wall mounted smart TV.
River House - Kennett River
River House is a large multilevel family home in an idyllic riverside setting and beside the beach. The large block adjoins the Kennett River reserve and nature walking track - with a path leading directly along the river to the beach in 3 minutes (250m), and in the other direction into the Great Otway National Park. Abundant birdlife and wildlife surround the property, including kangaroos and koalas.
Enter into the open plan kitchen and dining area, featuring an abundance of natural light streaming in through the floor to ceiling windows with a view to the river and bushland. The kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances, induction cooktop, fridge with water dispenser, Nespresso coffee machine, soda stream and walk in pantry. Gather for a family meal all together around the 10 seater timber table, or out on the deck dining setting. This living area has comfy couches, wall mounted Smart TV, Sonos sound system, Foxtel, along with a wood fire for added warmth and ambiance. Sliding doors lead onto the wrap around deck area featuring an 8 person hot tub overlooking the river and bushland. There is also a large Beefeater BBQ, outdoor couches and shade.
